Hanging with the Author

I want to keep you updated on what my plans are this year. I'm currently working on my next book, which will be a series of short stories that speaks to many issues that we deal with today. I'm also looking into getting my story "There Was A Little Girl In The Corner." made into a Faith based movie, so I need lots of prayers for that.

Mental Illness is such a huge issue in our society today and many people don't understand the importance of treating mental illness just like any other disease. It's my desire to help those that are dealing with this disease by showing them the way out. One of the first things that I did when I was diagnosed and hospitalized on a psychiatric ward in Brooklyn, was ask the nurse what was wrong with me? She told me that I had a lack of oxygen in my brain. I didn't really know what that meant at the time, but I knew that I was going to fight to overcome this dreaded disease. It was through my Mother's love and prayers for me that eventually brought me out of this dark illness, but I also had to be treated through medication and many sessions with not only my psychiatrist, but the psychologist that was also assigned to my case. If you're going through any type of mental illness, You should know that there is a way back to living a normal life back in the society. Don't give up!
